Pictures of Process : Button Still Lifes

I have a fabulous button collection. I'm so proud of it. I don't just hoard it in jars though, I make jewelry out of it and soon I'll be making cute little embroideries featuring some buttons. (Stay tuned, the design is done, I just need some time to embroider!)

I've been dying for a way to show off some of my buttons. This week I came up with a great idea. Why not combine photography and my buttons so I can preserve their memory and showcase them?

So I got started.

I came up with a bunch of great ideas for how to show off the buttons. I wanted to use natural light for my shoot so once I had my buttons all set I took them outside...

And then disaster struck. The outdoor still life button photographer's worst enemy: WIND.

But I pulled myself together and came back inside and decided to shoot indoors near the window. Things turned out well. Here are some final images now up on Etsy!

All in all it was a good day. And these babies look great all printed up and matted. :) See them on Etsy HERE.
